Dec 2011: Solicitor Case Manager V5.4.10 Released (SCM/PMS/SPS)

OPSIS Solicitor Case Manager (SCM) is the case management solution of choice for users of OPSIS accounting product. 

We are pleased to announce that version 5.4.10 is now available.

This maintenance release includes a number of general enhancements;

• Display client email address on case screen.
• Display case Notes when case opened.
• Country field included in address searches.
• Emails now handled using Microsoft Outlook, enabling better selection of recipients, building of Subject using SCM merge fields, changing defaults for time recording, and options to Save/Print emails.
• New Company merge field for Marketing Module.
• Application Usage Auditing option can be disabled to speed up login time.
• Feature permission to prevent change of Fee Earner on cases.
• Case Documents tab now allows advanced filtering of documents by Category and Active status.
• Plus several Fixed issues.

Get notified the instant we release new versions of our software.

It's dead easy to subscribe to our RSS Feed in MS Outlook:-

1. Right-click the RSS Feeds folder, then click Add a New RSS Feed

2. Copy http://feeds.feedburner.com/OpsisNewsInfo into the popup box, then click Add

That's it! Now any new posts we make to our blog, will automatically come into your Outlook and be marked as Unread messages. Simply read, keep or delete them just like any other email message, or click the View Article... link to view the full post at our blog.

Alternatively you can either view the OPSIS News & Info Blog online, or you can subscribe to its "RSS Feed" in your own blog newsreader software, which will automatically feed the latest news and release announcements to your newsreader (see more instructions below).

About RSS Feeds

What is RSS?

RSS is a quick and convenient way of keeping in touch with OPSIS news and updates. It stands for Really Simple Syndication, and is content that can be read by special "feed" reading software or a web service you can use from your web browser.

What is the difference between RSS and Internet browsing?

With normal Internet browsing you have to remember to re-visit a website, or blog page to see what's new. Whereas RSS will automatically gather the latest news from any number of news feeds you are interested in, and display their headlines in one convenient place for you to read - without having to visit each website in turn.

Simply add the address of OPSIS's RSS web feed into your reader, and it will display the latest news headlines, each one with a synopsis and link that will take you to the full story.

How to Subscribe

You can subscribe to the OPSIS RSS Feed as follows:

You will need a News Reader or other similar software (e.g. MS Outlook is described above). One such reader is "RSS Reader", available at www.rssreader.com. There are many others such as Windows My Live, My Yahoo, Bloglines, Newsgator, Netvibes, or one of a variety of other popular newsreaders.

The RSS Feed URL to use in your blog newsreader software is:-

http://feeds.feedburner.com/OpsisNewsInfo

Click on the orange RSS button – this will open a page listing the current items in the feed.

Copy and paste the web address (Feed URL) of that page into your News Reader – usually done in the "add new feed" or "subscribe to new feed" box.

Once subscribed, whenever we create a news topic, your newsreader will show you the latest post(s). The screenshot below shows Windows Live displaying the latest posts from the blog.

Follow OpsisPMS on Twitter

Another great way to keep up to date with OPSIS software releases and news is to "follow us" on Twitter.com.

Simply click the Follow Me button below.

If you don't yet have a Twitter.com account you will need to Sign Up (this is very quick and easy to do). Once signed in just click the +Follow button near the OpsisPMS profile details.

Every time we post a new "tweet", or post an article on our blog, they will appear in the Twitter timeline.

Twitter is one of the most popular social media reources available, keeping you in touch with the latest trends and groups, and allowing you to participate in the Twitter community quickly and easily.

The Twitter ethos is brevity and minimalism.

Getting the point across in short snippets called "tweets", and if necessary providing fuller detail with links to blogs, websites, pictures, videos, and so on.
